The legendary Frost River Isle Royale Jr bushcraft pack in heritage black ( 732-N) is made from weather and abrasion resistant waxed canvas from Fairfield Textiles in New Jersey, premium leather from the S.B. Foot Tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota, along with robust, solid brass hardware. Frost River know how to build a pack the right way and guarantee it to last (the hardware and workmanship on Frost River’s waxed canvas and leather packs, bags, and accessories are guaranteed forever).
There is a symbiosis created when carrying a pack handcrafted of natural materials into the field. The canvas and leather blend with nature in a way that modern synthetics can’t. The swish going through brush is softer. The scrape over rock is subdued, the natural colours and organic textures just fit. The smell of warm leather in the sun, the beaded water droplets, fresh off a canoe paddle stroke, glisten just a bit brighter on waxed canvas than they do on with man-made materials. There’s unique character in a handcrafted, waxed canvas pack. It’s meant to be used in the woods, as it has been for generations. It remains relevant, and reminds a person to make plans to get back out again soon. Those of us who care about what we carry, and can see an object for more than the sum of its parts, will notice an inherent value and a sense of camaraderie between an outdoor traveller, a trusted pack, and the road, the stream, the journey…
This pack is supplied with a free tin of waxed canvas conditioner

Incredible pack! Just upgraded from an L.L.Bean to the frost river isle royale junior and after having used it a few times now i can safely say it's the best pack I've ever had! Very comfy, loads of room for your gear, the compression straps are brilliant and the quality! Really solid over engineered pack that will last a lifetime, really hard wearing. I've incorporated a padded plastic back and bottom for the inside to make it much more ridged. It's the pack of dreams and so versatile, quite light considering the materials used, (strong bridle leather and thick waxed canvas). Quite expensive but very, very worth it!
The quality of the pack is fantastic , it just really annoyed me that I had to wax it and feed the leather because it had dried out from being on a shelf for so long and at over £300 I would have expected to have come to me in the best condition possible
Great backpack cant believe the quality let down by the courier service UPS advised me delivery Tuesday booked holiday leave for that day only to be told by UPS they where then going to deliver the package Thursday DPD much better courier service one hour time slots plus you can track the parcel using the app live never let me down so far
