Mackinaw Wool Coat

Stormy Kromer

1 review

This is that coat — the one you find yourself reaching for the minute you feel a chill in the air.

Mackinaw cloth is a heavy and dense water-repellent woollen cloth. It was first used to make these coats in November 1811, when they were commissioned for the British Army at Ft. St. Joseph, Ontario (near Mackinac). They were later made famous by American loggers in the upper midwest as workwear during the mid-19th century logging boom. Today, they remain a firm favourite by many people as an outer layer in cold weather environments.

The Stormy Kromer Mackinaw Wool Coat is made from 26 oz. 100% virgin wool, making it the heaviest and warmest Mackinaw Wool Coat available. It is extremely durable, water repellent and very warm. The six pockets are utterly convenient. And the five-button front offers flexibility for layering.

Mackinaw Wool Coat

I've been wanting to buy a Mackinaw Coat for a while but the pricing of other brands has put me off..... Really pleased with first impressions of this coat. Well made and durable. Sizing perfect (I'm slim build) to allow layering beneath without feeling bulky. I'm sure this will be warm enough for the coldest of UK winters. Easy to order and fast telephone response from Mark regarding delivery. Will definitely purchase from 'Natural Man' again!
