Stormy Kromer Double Mackinaw Wool Coat Charcoal

We took our much-loved Mackinaw Wool Coat up a notch with an extra layer of warmth in the sleeves and across the chest and mid-back. Made with 100% wool from American Woolen in Connecticut. This heirloom quality, classic coat is durable, handsome, and luxuriously warm.

Mackinaw cloth is a heavy and dense water-repellent woollen cloth. It was first used to make these coats in November 1811, when they were commissioned for the British Army at Ft. St. Joseph, Ontario (near Mackinac). They were later made famous by American loggers in the upper midwest as workwear during the mid-19th century logging boom. Today, they remain a firm favourite by many people as an outer layer in cold weather environments.

This Stormy Kromer Mackinaw Jacket is made from 26 oz. 100% virgin wool, making it the heaviest and warmest Mackinaw Wool Coat available (and that's before factoring in the double layer). It is extremely durable, water repellent and very warm. Six pockets are sufficient for most accessories with two generous front patch pockets.
