Fallkniven Northern Light Idun Wolfram

FAKNL5LW

The Fallkniven Northern Light Idun NL5L Wolfram is as attractive as it is effective especially in the hands of the experienced hunter. When it comes to the Fallkniven Northern Light Series nothing has been spared to make this knife as strong, beautiful and comfortable as possible.

In this version, Tungsten (also known as Wolfram) has been added and has been shown, in Fallkniven's exhaustive tests, to substantially prolong sharpness and solidity. The 5mm thick blade is plenty strong enough for all reasonable tasks and with the laminate steel technology, one can expect an additional 20% strength in the form of resistance to bending compared to a non-laminated VG10 blade.

The beautiful handle consists of specially selected stacked ox-hide that gives a sure and rugged grip. It ages with elegance and as the years pass it acquires an attractive brown patina. The handle is unaffected by oil and solvents and impervious to water. When the oxhide drys out, small cracks on the handle can appear, but they disappear when the knife is put to use again.

As with all Fallkniven knives, a convex edge has been adopted. This is considered to be the ultimate combination of cutting performance and edge strength.

In Norse mythology, Idun was the goddess of fertility, and was responsible for guarding the apples that ensured the gods eternal youth. To many, she was also a symbol of love and rebirth, and in a famous poem she was referred to as the lover of the gods.

The knife comes with a high quality black leather sheath.
