The Hultafors Aby forest axe is a beautiful hybrid and is part of the new premium range from Hultafors and as such comes with a lifetime guarantee.
Aby has a straighter edge and grinding, and a good finger notch below the head for increased precision. The long, thinner, ergonomic handle minimises weight and in doing so delivers a greater striking force.
This axe is perfect for shelter building, processing firewood and carving as well as precision work. In short, it is your perfect forest companion. Like all Hultafors axes, the Åby forest axe is hand forged and made from high quality Swedish axe steel. As part of the head-forging process, the steel is struck 40-60 times, thereby increasing its density and resulting in greater durability. The Aby is named after the nearest village from Hults Bruk, where many of the workers at the forge lived in the mid 20th century.
The handle length of this model is 24" (60cm), and the weight of the head is 0.7Kg. Each axe comes with a sturdy leather sheath.
