This axe is named after Ernst Stålberg, one of Hults Bruk's most experienced blacksmiths from the first half of the 20th century.
Like all of our axes, the Stålberg is hand forged from high quality Swedish steel. As part of the forging process, the axe head is struck 40-60 times; increasing its density and resulting in enhanced durability.
The straight handle and long, narrow and straight edge of the Hultafors Stalberg Carpenters Axe provides the precision and confidence a skilled craftsman demands. A finger notch in the axe head allows a grip where your hand is placed, almost straight above the centre of the cutting edge.
The handle length of this model is 20" (50cm), and the weight of the head is 0.85Kg.
Shaving sharp "out of the box".
I am a complete newcomer the world of the axe, and was completely overwhelmed by the choices available, but after considerable research, chose Natural man for my purchase(s). I purchased the Stahlberg carpenters axe, in addition to the ‘Hultan’ hatchet. I was surprised at the speed of delivery, considering the situation, three days from order to my lap! The service from the team at Natural man is first rate, and I would recommend them every time, I have called them on several occasions for advice, and always get a great response, and good honest advice, in addition to a good old chat, men and tools eh? I have finally taken the axe from its lovely packaging (carpenters axe) and christened it with some serious work on some wind blown trees, and totally at home with this lovely axe, just fits like glove, exceeding my expectations, itching to get back up to the woods to do more. I have yet to take the hatchet out for its maiden voyage, but eager to put it to work. I thank Mark and his team, and look forward to future purchases from them, 100% satisfaction, highly recommend.
